I have a habit with software pricing pages. I open the tool I am researching, then I open every tool the same buyer would plausibly consider, and I do not close any of them until I can say what each one would cost the same business a year from now. Munch Studio took me about a minute. Two of its competitors took most of an afternoon, because their bills depend on things you cannot know until you are three months in.
That difference turned out to be the whole story. Munch Studio is not cheap, and it does not have a free plan, and it wants your card before it shows you a single post. But it is one of the few tools in this space where the number on the page is the number you pay. I started a trial on the cheapest plan, walked the plan picker three times with three different businesses in mind, and kept a running sheet of what Predis.ai, SocialBee, Buffer, Hootsuite and Later would charge for the same setups. This is that sheet, with the reasoning attached.
| The one-paragraph answer. Munch Studio runs $38 a month billed yearly or $48 month to month for one brand, and $60 or $75 if you want unlimited team seats. Cheaper tools exist at every level, from Buffer's free tier to Predis.ai at $19. What you pay Munch Studio for is a flat bill that does not grow when you add a teammate, connect a network or generate a video. For solo image posters that premium is hard to justify. For small teams and anyone posting video every week, it is often the cheaper option once you count what the rivals charge for the same usage. |
Five ways social media tools charge you
Every pricing page in this category looks like the same three-column layout, which hides the fact that the tools are billing on completely different things. Before comparing dollar figures, it helps to know which meter is running.
| Model | Who uses it | Your bill goes up when |
|---|---|---|
| Per channel | Buffer | You connect another social account. Each one is billed separately. |
| Per seat | Hootsuite | A colleague needs a login. Every plan is priced per user. |
| Per credit | Predis.ai | You generate an image, a video or a resize. Everything draws from one monthly pool. |
| Per profile, with caps | SocialBee, Later | You add profiles, users or workspaces, or you pass a monthly post cap. |
| Per brand, flat quotas | Munch Studio | You add a second brand. Channels, seats on Premium and static posts do not move the price. |
Once you see it this way, the question stops being “is $38 expensive” and becomes “which of these meters is going to run on my business.” A one-person shop posting photos rarely trips any of them. A three-person team on five networks trips almost all of them, and that is where the cheap tools stop being cheap.
What Munch Studio actually charges
The plans split by brand count, not by features. Publishing to Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube and TikTok, the content strategy, the planner, the performance dashboard and unlimited generated posters and carousels are on every tier. Moving up buys you video minutes, generated videos, seats and storage.
Essential $38 per month yearly, or $48 monthly • 1 brand, 1 seat • 500 video repurposing minutes a month • 10 generated videos a month • 100 GB storage | Premium $60 per month yearly, or $75 monthly • 1 brand, unlimited seats • 1,000 repurposing minutes • 30 generated videos • 1 TB storage | Studio $118 per month yearly, or $148 monthly • Up to 5 brands, unlimited seats • 2,500 repurposing minutes • 50 generated videos • 400 GB storage | Scale $318 per month yearly, or $398 monthly • Up to 15 brands, unlimited seats • 7,500 repurposing minutes • 150 generated videos • 1 TB storage |
Yearly billing is charged up front: $456 for Essential, $720 for Premium, $1,416 for Studio and $3,816 for Scale. All plans start with a 7-day trial that asks for card details first.

| The price has moved. In July the month-to-month Essential price was $58. It is $48 today, and the yearly rate has stayed at $38 throughout. If you want to see exactly what the onboarding shows you before the card prompt appears, I walked through it screen by screen in my Munch Studio review. This article is only about the money. |

The competitors, sorted by what they are
Five tools, three kinds of product. Lumping them into one ranking is how people end up comparing a scheduler to a content team and concluding the content team is overpriced.
| Tool | What it is | Cheapest paid, yearly | Monthly | Free plan | Trial |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Munch Studio | Makes and posts the content | $38 | $48 | No | 7 days, card required |
| Predis.ai | Makes the content, credit-metered | $19 | $32 | Yes, watermarked | Yes |
| SocialBee | Scheduler with unlimited AI captions | $24.20 | $29 | No | 14 days, no card |
| Later | Visual scheduler, post caps | $18.75 | $25 | Yes, limited | 14 days |
| Buffer | Per-channel scheduler | $5 per channel | $6 per channel | Yes, 3 channels | 14 days, no card |
| Hootsuite | Per-seat management suite | $99 per user | Higher, not published | No | 14 days, no card |
The tools that make the content
Only Predis.ai plays the same game as Munch Studio. Its Core plan is $19 yearly or $32 monthly for 1,300 credits, one brand and ten channels, and it cannot auto-post. Rise is $40 yearly or $79 monthly with four brands and 3,200 credits. Enterprise+ is $212 yearly or $249 monthly with unlimited brands. Every image, video and resize spends credits, and top-ups are $29 a month. Cheaper on paper at every tier, with a real free plan, but you are always doing arithmetic.
The schedulers with an assistant
SocialBee gives every paid plan an unlimited AI Copilot for captions and ideas, from $29 monthly or $24.20 yearly for five profiles up to $99 or $82.50 for 25 profiles across five workspaces. Later starts at $25 monthly or $18.75 yearly for eight profiles with a 30-post monthly cap per profile and five AI credits; Growth at $50 or $37.50 lifts the cap and adds team features. Buffer is free for three channels and $6 per channel monthly or $5 yearly after that, with a caption assistant on every plan. All three help you write. None of them make a reel, design a carousel or hand you a strategy.
The suite
Hootsuite is in a different weight class. Standard is $99 per user per month on yearly billing for ten accounts, Professional is $199 per user for unlimited accounts, Advanced is $399 per user with approval workflows, and monthly billing costs more without a published figure. You get an inbox, listening and benchmarking that nothing else here offers. You also pay for every person who logs in.
Where the Munch Studio premium goes
Munch Studio Essential costs roughly double Predis Core, SocialBee Bootstrap or Later Starter on yearly billing. The extra money buys three things that show up on the bill elsewhere.
Video is inside the plan 500 repurposing minutes and 10 generated videos a month on Essential, with no per-clip charge. Predis charges credits per video. Munch, the sister clipping tool, charges $49 a month for 200 upload minutes and does not post them. | No seat tax after Essential Premium at $60 has unlimited team members. Hootsuite charges $99 per person on its cheapest plan. SocialBee's two lower plans are single-user. Later sells extra users as add-ons. | The strategy is the product Every plan reads your site and brand materials, builds a posting plan, and generates unlimited posters and carousels against it. The schedulers leave that part to you. |

The Getting To Know You screen inside the app. It pulls images from your site and proposes a posting schedule before you have typed anything about your business.
When Munch Studio is the cheaper option • Teams of three or more. Premium is $60 with unlimited seats. Three Hootsuite Standard seats are $297. SocialBee Pro is $82.50 for three users per workspace. • Regular short video. Ten generated videos and 500 minutes of repurposing on Essential cost less than Munch Pro alone, and there is no credit pool to drain. • All five networks. Five channels on Buffer Team run $50 a month yearly. Essential covers all five for $38, and Premium covers them with unlimited seats for $60. | When it is not • One person, mostly images. Buffer is free for three channels. Later Starter is $18.75, Predis Core is $19, SocialBee Bootstrap is $24.20. Essential is nearly double any of them. • Agencies. Studio is $118 yearly or $148 monthly for five brands. SocialBee Pro covers five workspaces for $82.50 yearly or $99 monthly. Predis Rise covers four brands for $40 yearly, and a fifth is a $5 add-on. • Anyone who wants to look first. Four of the five rivals let you in without a card. Munch Studio's card-gated trial is the single biggest reason people bounce off it. |

Three things buyers get wrong about the price
“Munch Studio and Munch are the same subscription” Same company, different bills. Munch is the clipping tool: Pro $49, Elite $116 and Ultimate $220 a month for 200, 500 and 1,000 upload minutes, clips only. Munch Studio Essential at $48 monthly includes 500 repurposing minutes plus the publishing layer. Per minute, the newer product is the better deal. | “Yearly is always the smart buy” The $38 rate saves $120 a year over monthly, but it is $456 charged at once for a product whose monthly price changed this summer. Run a month at $48 first. If the posts sound like you, switch. If they do not, you are out $48, not $456. | “It is a scheduler at three times the price” Scheduling is the smallest thing it does. If a queue is all you need, Buffer will beat it every time. The price is for not having to make the posts, and that only pays off if you were spending real hours making them. |
How to pick a plan in three questions
| Does anyone besides you need a login? | No: Essential. Yes: Premium, which is the only single-brand tier with unlimited seats. |
| Do you post more than ten short videos a month? | No: Essential. Yes: Premium, for 30 generated videos and 1,000 repurposing minutes. |
| Do you run more than one brand? | Up to five: Studio at $118 yearly or $148 monthly. Up to fifteen: Scale at $318 yearly or $398 monthly. More: email partnerships for a custom plan. |
Almost everyone I have talked through this lands on Essential or Premium. The multi-brand tiers are priced for agencies that have already decided they want a done-for-you engine and are comparing it to a hire, not to SocialBee.
Verdict: priced for the buyer who has stopped enjoying thisAfter two weeks with these tabs open and a trial running in one of them, I stopped thinking of Munch Studio as expensive and started thinking of it as fixed. Every other tool in this comparison has a number that grows: another channel, another seat, another credit pack, another post cap. Munch Studio has one number per brand, and on Premium it stays there no matter who you add. That is not a small thing when you have watched a $19 plan become a $60 plan by March. The honest ceiling is who it serves. If you are one person who likes making posts and mostly shares images, spend $19 on Predis or nothing on Buffer and do not look back. If you are an agency, SocialBee and Predis both cover five brands for less. But if you run a small business with a team, post video every week, and would pay to never open a design tool again, $60 a month is a fair price for that, and it beats what the per-seat tools would charge you for the same people. My one condition is the same one I set after my first hands-on session with Munch Studio: pay monthly first. The yearly discount is real, but $456 up front for a tool that will not show you a sample post beforehand is a bet, and you should place it with $48, not $456. |
